It's a...

It's a baby! Liz and I are proud to announce that we are expecting a child in June of 2008! Liz is about 16 weeks pregnant (she is almost starting to show). Loki and the fish are all being prepared for the new member of the family. I'm not sure how Loki is going to feel getting knocked out of the top spot.

As we are experts at bad timing, we are also scheduled to be moving into our new house sometime next summer/fall. The builder estimates July, but when was the last time a construction estimate was correct. I think we are probably the only customer who are hoping their house is delayed by a few months. We would much rather get the baby home and established before having to also deal with moving.

By popular request, here are some early childhood photos. We have had four sets of pictures total, and will have another set in early February.

Here is a picture at week 7. You can see the heartbeat on the left, and the very early baby on the right.



Here is a week 9 picture, which actually starts to look mildly human.



Again at week 11, you can start to see arms, legs, head here. This photo doesnt really do it justice. During this ultrasound, we were able to see the baby move, roll on its side, scratch its head, etc.



And the most recent ones on week 12. Here you can see all four limbs (and we saw all four move, a good sign).



We have also had our "First Screen" where they check some measurements in the sonogram as well as a few blood tests. The results were very positive, which puts the baby in a very low risk category for a few genetic disorders. All good news so far.

We will continue posting here as we get more news and pictures. We will also start posting more often with pictures of the house (The basement is now mostly done... pictures to follow in a few days).
